Oh, wouldn't it be nice to have some letters? Some comments on this, our second, issue?

We can't promise to include everything we are sent or even all of a single letter (we reserve the right to edit for space, etc), but we would love to know what you think. Simply send us an email.

I enjoyed the latest issue of haijinx tremendously. I think it is a great idea to have a haiku magazine that specializes in humor. The haiku are always light and humorous, as they should be, and sometimes deep and profound, which a nice trick when you can pull it off. The haiga are remarkable, so colorful, and really make your magazine special and different from other haiku magazines. The articles were great as well. Some of the haiku in the article on Issa were new to me and had me laughing out loud (ok, maybe "chuckling" is a better description, but still quite a feat to accomplish in the short space of a haiku). I like the fact that the articles are short and breezy and to the point, which goes with the magazine's character. I enjoyed the other features as well, particularly the author focus on Randy Brooks, and dialogue between the English and Japanese haikuists. And I have a birthday coming up the end of this month, so I'm trying to get the hint to my wife about the t-shirts!

Sincerely,
Harold Bowes
