Originally from Washington State, Alice Frampton moved to British Columbia, Canada in 1973. In 1999, after twenty-five years in the childcare field, she retired to write full time. In January of 2000 she knew nothing of haiku, but luckily submitted some poems to Jim Kacian who extended his hand and became a teacher, mentor, inspiration, and friend. Alice received an honorable mention in Haiku Canada's Betty Drevnoik annual haiku contest. Alice's poetry has appeared in stone frog: American Haibun & Haiga, Volume 2, Haiku Canada and Haiku Society of America Anthologies, and Countless Leaves, an Anthology of The North American Tanka Contest 2001. Previous credits include: Frogpond, The Heron's Nest, Poetry In The Light, RAW NerVZ, The Haiku Canada Newsletter, American Tanka, Lynx, and others. haiku: "cold shower" - previously unpublished
